NextImg:Woman hesitating to jump off Italian cliff slips, collides with rocks: video

Terrifying video has captured the moment a woman stewing over whether to jump from a cliff suddenly slipped and toppled down the rocks before dropping to the water.

The dramatic scene was coincidentally captured by Australian man Kal Glanznig, who had moments earlier been highlighting why tourists needed to get travel insurance.

“On this week’s episode of why you should get travel insurance, we have old mate [the woman] who has no idea what the water temp is,” he was heard saying before shrieking as she began falling.

The woman, who was standing atop a cliff in Fiordo di Furore in Italy, appeared to be deciding whether to take make the risky jump when she lost her balance.

An echo of screams could be heard from witnesses as she fell and smashed her legs on part of the cliff on the way down.

According to Mr Glanznig, whose video was posted to Instagram, it “took about one hour to get her carried up all the stairs to the ambulance”.

The clip was shared with the caption: “If only travel insurance companies offered extra idiot protection”.

Viewers were mortified the woman was even contemplating the jump to begin with.

“I’ve been there … it’s very shallow water,” one wrote in a comment.

“The ol hesitation. It will get ya,” another said.

Others noted the spot was filled with rocks and agreed it was not a safe location to jump from.

“This makes my entire body hurt,” someone else said.

The video has been liked by more than 30,000 people and has attracted close to 500 comments.
