New Jersey police are looking for a woman who allegedly threw a Skee-ball that struck a child in the head at an arcade following a disagreement with another person.
The Cape May Police Department released a video and a statement to Facebook asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman seen chucking the wooden, baseball-sized ball at the child after getting into an argument with a man.
“She was involved in a disagreement with another patron of the arcade. As a result, she throws a Skeeball at the other party that ends up striking a child in the back of the head,” cops said.
The woman was talking with a child of her own near the unidentified arcade’s Skee-ball alleys when she looks up as a child and a man walked past her, according to the video.
The woman eventually makes her way to the Lane Master game, a Skee-ball/bowling game where the objective is to knock down digital bowling pins instead of getting the ball into point holes when she rips the arcade card out of the child’s hands and swipes into the machine multiple times.
Once the ball became available to play, the woman picked it up and appeared to rip the ball underhand at the defenseless child and man who appeared slightly out of the camera’s frame, the clip shows.
The woman stood hunched over and grabbed another ball to play the game amid the ordeal.
When the man wearing a stripped blue and white shirt confronted the woman, it appears she says the ball slipped from her hand.
A female bystander jumped into the conversation as the first woman shrugged her shoulders and made hand gestures as if to say she had no idea what happened.
As the woman walks away with two children, the man cupped his hands around his mouth, yelling something at her.
Cape May police shared a photo alongside the video posted to social media, showing the woman in a white dress and dark shoulder-length hair, standing around with a group of six others outside.
It is unknown what the original disagreement was about or if the child that was hit suffered any injuries.
