SIGN UP NOWThursday’s gathering, the largest in-person turnout in union history for CBA negotiations, was the first time players had the opportunity to air grievances, raise concerns and ask questions in front of league officials, including commissioner Cathy Engelbert, since the WNBA took five months to respond to the union’s initial proposals.
Ultimately, players left the meeting with little to say.
Most players declined to comment when leaving the downtown Indianapolis hotel, including union president Nneka Ogwumike, who said she had to go to the orange carpet that was scheduled to start in less than two hours.
