Netflix‘s XO, Kitty charmed its way into our hearts with help from creator Jenny Han’s rom-com expertise; Anna Cathcart’s enchanting on-screen presence; and a whole lot of romance, drama, and chaos.
If you’ve devoured all 10 episodes of Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before spinoff, you’re likely wondering what’s in store for Kitty (Cathcart), Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), Yuri (Gia Kim), Dae (Min-yeong Choi), Q (Anthony Keyvan), and the rest of the characters Kitty crossed paths with at KISS.
So has Netflix renewed XO, Kitty for Season 2? Will we get to see more of Cathcart’s main character energy? Or has Kitty’s time in Seoul come to an end? We’ve got the answers below.
As of XO, Kitty‘s premiere day (May 18), the spinoff series has yet to be renewed or canceled by Netflix. But that’s not to say the series won’t return for a Season 2. It’s not uncommon for streaming platforms to wait a bit after a series has premiered to announce renewal status updates. Han’s To All The Boys films have been incredibly popular for Netflix, and since Kitty was a fan-favorite character in the series, fans of Anna Cathcart will likely be eager to check out the new installment in the To All The Boys-verse.
Plus, XO, Kitty ends with several major loose ends in need of tying up, so there’s plenty of material to explore in a potential Season 2. If the series is renewed, what can fans expect from new episodes? We’ve got a few ideas.

If you have yet to watch Episode 10 of XO, Kitty and want to avoid spoilers, consider this your chance to stop reading. But if you’re curious how XO, Kitty‘s finale sets up a potential Season 2, you’ve come to the right place.
In XO, Kitty‘s Season 1 finale, Dae and Min Ho each pine for Kitty, but Kitty is distracted by her feelings for Yuri. She FaceTimes her dad to express her confusion, saying she doesn’t know if she’s bi, pan, or fluid, and he offers support, saying he’s just glad she’s safe and healthy. Lee finally learns that Alex is his son and they start sorting out years worth of questions with Jina and Yuri. As everyone at KISS preps to head home for winter break and simultaneously fears their final grades, Min Ho leaves school early and barely says goodbye to Kitty.
When grades are posted, Q sees that Florian snagged the top spot, which troubles him because Florian cheated to keep his grades up so his parents would let him stay at school. The results are bittersweet for Q because he wants Florian to stay, but since Dae lost his spot as first in class he’ll also lose his room and scholarship. Meanwhile, Kitty managed to pass her finals, but in a twist, Jina tells her she’s not being asked back to KISS because she broke the rules by living in the boys’ dorm. Jina finally explains that Lee was her first love, opens up to Kitty about her mom, and gives Kitty a letter her mom sent when she got back home from KISS. (Jina still carries guilt over never responding to the letter, which is why she’s been so awkward around Kitty all this time.)

Though Kitty isn’t ready to leave KISS for good, she packs her bags, leaves Dae her mom’s necklace, and heads to the airport. Realizing he missed her, Dae calls his dad to drive him to the airport and he chases after Kitty so the two can share a proper goodbye. “Whatever happens in the future, you will always be the first girl I loved,” he says. “And the first boy I loved,” she replies before kissing him. Before Kitty makes her way through security, she sees — wait for it — Yuri! Kitty starts telling Yuri she has feelings for her, but Yuri’s girlfriend Juliana arrives and Kitty slips away unseen. Before Kitty boards the plane, however, Yuri calls her mom and asks her not to expel Kitty from KISS.
Before the end credits roll, Kitty (and viewers!) get one last surprise. Min Ho is Kitty’s seatmate on the plane! He’s going to see his mom in LA, but he also has to tell Kitty something important: “I think I fell in love with you a little bit…or a lot.” SWOON!
If XO, Kitty returns for Season 2, we’ll check back in on the Dae/Florian/Q drama at KISS, see Jina and Yuri’s new family continue to bond, and find out if Kitty is returning to school. We’ll also see how her feelings for Dae, Yuri, and Min Ho (three whole people!) progress. And we may even see her and Dae spending break together in America. Here’s hoping Kitty can return to KISS and keep learning about her mom’s past.
XO, Kitty Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
