The explosive finale of The White Lotus graced our television screens just last night, but already fans are clamoring for more.

The Thailand-set third season of the hit show about unhinged rich people getting into madness, mayhem and murder at a luxury resort hotel launched to positive reviews, including from DECIDER’s own Meghan O’Keefe, despite some fatigue of the show’s returning format:

“Ultimately, The White Lotus Season 3 is still the best at what the show sets out to do,” O’Keefe wrote in her White Lotus Season 3 review. “The many aforementioned copycats out there struggle to match the HBO hit’s sophisticated level of execution. If you want an addictive, star-studded murder mystery rife with sly jokes and non-stop wealth porn, The White Lotus is the gold standard in escapism.”

Between the first two seasons, the show has garnered 15 Emmy wins. In addition to being a critical darling, The White Lotus has been a cultural phenomenon; the Thai-set season alone has attracted record-breaking numbers. According to Deadline, the second-to-last episode of the season attracted 4.2 million viewers, up from the Season 2 finale.

As the season wraps up with a bang (or a few!) audiences are left with a few questions: Will there be a White Lotus Season 4? When would it premiere, who will round out the cast, and most importantly, which vacation destination will it be set at? Here’s what we know.

Good news for Mike White fans: the fourth season of The White Lotus has already been confirmed! HBO renewed the series for a fourth run back in January, ahead of the Season 3 premiere.

Unfortunately, no news around a release date for Season 4 has been confirmed. Filming has yet to begin, but Variety reported back in January that HBO was eyeing production to begin in 2026.

HBO EVP Francesca Orsi told Deadline back in February that no official decision had been made at that time about the location of the highly anticipated fourth season. “We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon,” Orsi told Deadline. “I can’t really say where we’re going to land but chances are somewhere in Europe.”

If you’re expecting another beach-set getaway for the fourth outing, you may want to think again.

Series creator Mike White shared with Deadline that he’s thinking of moving away from the ocean for the next batch of episodes. “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular, but there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels,” he said after the Season 3 finale aired.

Like its setting, casting details have not been shared yet. After launching the career resurgence of Hollywood favorites like Jennifer Coolidge and Parker Posey in its first three seasons, it’s safe to say that we’ll be getting some iconic new faces next time around.

Personally, I’d love to see The White Lotus take on a wintry landscape next time around. Maybe a ski resort with someone like Catherine O’Hara hitting the slopes, perhaps?
