Like Season 1 before it, Tell Me Lies Season 2 left viewers in agonizing suspense and an unshakable desire for more episodes. The struggle is real, the burning questions feel endless, and I think I speak for all fans when I say we need a Season 3 renewal ASAP.

The Season 2 finale of Hulu’s tumultuous coming-of-age drama, inspired by Carola Lovering’s 2018 best-selling novel, finally took us to Bree (Cat Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding day, where the drama, hook-ups, and revenge plots were in full force.

When the end credits roll on Season 2, Episode 8, “Don’t Struggle Like That, Or I Will Only Love You More,” fans of Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen’s (Jackson White) chaotic crew will be craving more. And those wondering if Tell Me Lies Season 3 is a go, came to the right place.

Following Tell Me Lies‘ captivating second season, here’s everything we know about the future of the series, including comments from creator Meaghan Oppenheimer about how long she wants the show to last and more. (Warning: Season 2 finale spoilers ahead!)

As of Tell Me Lies Season 2 premiere day (Wednesday, October 16) Hulu had yet to renew or cancel the popular drama, but that’s not so say we’ve seen the last of Lucy and her chaotic crew. It’s typical for networks and streamers to wait a while after a season wraps to announce the fate of a show, and considering the series has a solid Tomatometer rating, gets lots of love on TikTok, and a left fans on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, we have a good feeling a renewal is on the way.

When Decider spoke with showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer and asked if she had a set arc in mind for the series, here’s what she had to say: “I think it really just depends. I think most shows nowadays do well with three seasons. I think that’s a very clean, good number to me — especially when it’s something that’s a smaller story, not a big procedural thing.”

While it sounds like Oppenheimer could be open to more than three seasons if the stars and storylines align, she did note, “I would rather have something end when it’s good than just drag it out too long.” That said, surely the world deserves a Season 3 to wrap up all of these burning questions.

If you’re in need of a detailed Tell Me Lies Season 2 recap, Decider’s got you covered, but for the purposes of Season 2 cliffhangers, here’s what you need to know.

In 2015, Stephen and Lucy slept together on Bree and Evan’s wedding day. Max, and potentially Lydia (if their engagement was even real?!) are presumably history. And Bree and Evan may be, too. Why? Because in the final moments of the Season 2 finale, Stephen unleashed a crucial step in his long, twisted revenge game. Minutes before the ceremony he was nowhere to be found, and as Bree did one last check in the mirror Stephen texted her a damning audio file from 2008, in which Evan confess to cheating on her with Lucy. As a haunting cover of “Mr. Brightside,” sung by absolute icon Cat Missal, starts to swell in the background, Lucy comes up behind Bree, looks at her in the mirror, and asks, “You ready?” AHH!!!

First and foremost, we need to know what the heck happens with this wedding. Does Bree go through with the nuptials? Does she kill Stephen? Or Evan? Or Lucy? Or all three? Does she run away with her mystery caller? We need answers!

After Season 1’s finale, showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer said she’s pretty sure Pippa knows that Lucy and Evan slept together, so that’s something else to potentially explore. “That’s that comment in the pilot where she’s like, ‘This is our opportunity to not be shitty be friends to her for once.'”

On top of wanting to see the aftermath of all Season 2’s 2008 storylines and exploring more of the college years, there are also so many developments that happen between Baird and Breevan’s wedding festivities that we don’t know about. How did Pippa and Diana finally become an item? How the heck do Lydia and Stephen get engaged? And more!

Do you then get to see how they took that step in their relationship? Because it would be like, tell me lies. Post-college years beyond the wedding. Is that something you’ve thought about?

“I think obviously there’s so much that has to happen in the eight years that we have not seen,” Oppenheimer told Decider. “So, yeah. I think it would be nice to see more of that.”

Ultimately, it will be interesting to see where a potential Season 3 leaves this friend group in 2015 or beyond. Can they survive Stephen DiMarco? Will they all have their final fallout? And who will get justice? Come on, Hulu. Don’t leave us hanging.

While we eagerly await Season 3 updates, Tell Me Lies Season 2 is now streaming on Hulu.
