Eight new episodes of Sonic Prime were recently added to Netflix, leaving fans everywhere wondering: where is Season 3?

Sonic Prime Season 2 saw our hero trying to piece his universe back together after a run-in with Dr. Eggman. After the Paradox Prism was shattered in Season 1, the team set out in search of the shards to reassemble it and get back to their reality.

According to Sonic Prime executive producer Logan McPherson, the team behind the series wanted to remain “faithful and authentic” to the timeline of the games. But they’ve managed to take it to a whole new level with the Shatterverse.

“Once we entered the “Shatterverse,” we could create new characters and take the story in different directions that I think will be both intriguing and fun for the audience,” McPherson told What’s On Netflix.

“The story continues to build and stretches Sonic to his limits both physically and emotionally, so you can expect a wild ride and a lot of fun to come,” he teased after the Season 1 premiere.

So, will there be a Sonic Prime Season 3? Here’s what we know.

It looks like the answer is… maybe? Though a Season 3 hasn’t been confirmed just yet, the production studio behind the series shared that it comprises 24 episodes, and only 16 have been released so far.

A release date has not yet been announced for Sonic Prime Season 3, but considering 24 episodes have already been produced, it’s safe to assume that a third season could be coming to Netflix soon.

Sonic Prime Season 1 premiered on Netflix in December 2022, and Season 2 premiered on July 13, 2023. It’s possible that Sonic Prime fans will be looking at a late 2023 or early 2024 release for Season 3.
