Amy Schumer‘s semi-autobiographical comedy series Life & Beth follows the the titular character through the highs and lows of her adulthood as she revisits her past traumas.

The show returned for its second season on Feb. 16, 2024 on Hulu, and left fans immediately wanting more.

The first season sees Beth (Schumer) in the immediate aftermath of the sudden loss of her mother, which causes her to leave Manhattan to go home to Long Island where she meets a quiet farmer John, played by Michael Cera.

Their relationship kicks off in Season 2 as the couple gets married and decides to have a child.

With the sweeping romance and exciting character arcs, there’s much more territory for the series to explore.

Decider spoke with Schumer and Cera on Zoom in anticipation of the Season 2 release, and asked them if there’s been any conversations about a third season.

“I would love to do more and to keep learning about about these people,” Cera told us. “There’s a lot to discover. We were talking about the other day.”

Schumer, who also writes, directs, and produces the show, added, “We want to do it. So, we hope we get to do it. We already have lots of ideas and enthusiasm for it. Hopefully people watch this season and there’s a demand!”

The first season of Life & Beth premiered March 18, 2022 and was renewed the following month. Whip Media reported that the series was in the Top 10 most-streamed original series in the United States the week after following its release. On the list, Life & Beth occupied the no. 7 position, above Severance and below Our Flag Means Death.

The series also has high reception, averaging a 90% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes.

In addition to Schumer and Cera both wanting to film another season, the two gushed about working together on set and joked that they were their own “intimacy coordinators” during romantic scenes.

“I feel like we’ve had chemistry since before we even filmed this. For me, I can say that we love each other as people and trust each other. I feel like I can be completely vulnerable and like I’m really being listened to,” Schumer said.

So, will there be a Season 3? If all goes well, the series could see a speedy renewal next month. But as of now, Hulu has yet to renew the show for another season. We’ll keep our fingers crossed because we want a baby season!

Life & Beth is currently streaming on Hulu.
