NextImg:Wild video shows moment man drags deputy 49 feet after resisting Tasers

A Florida man is behind bars after dragging a deputy nearly 50 feet while handcuffed and resisting Taser shots during an arrest-gone-wrong, police said.

Keon Hodge, 28, was being taken into custody on Monday, at around 7:15 p.m., over an active warrant for trespassing at the Star Motel in Tampa.

Shocking bodycam footage from Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies show Hodge resisting arrest the moment one of the officers places a handcuff on him.

Hodge immediately jumps back, yanking one of the officers off of her feet as she holds onto the handcuffs to keep him from running away.

The deputy is able to get back up and hits Hodge with a stun gun, who tells her to “stop” as he tries to wrestle her off.

The other deputy can also be seen taking out her own Taser and hitting Hodge, who continues to be unaffected by the shocks as he spins and knocks the officer holding the handcuffs down again.

Hodge immediately attempts to run, dragging the officer across the ground until she finally lets go.

The deputy’s partner can be seen giving chase on foot, but Hodge manages to outrun her and disappear into the night.

Fortunately, the sheriff department’s aviation unit was able to keep an eye on Hodge and informed deputies of his location at a nearby car lot, where he was attempting to remove the handcuff still on his wrist.

Deputies, accompanied by a K9 unit, eventually found Hodge hiding behind a hot water heater, with follow-up bodycam footage showing the moment he surrendered to the deputies.

“When it comes to teamwork, it couldn’t be better displayed than what these deputies showed,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “After this man violently rejected the first attempt at his arrest, he now will face additional consequences for his despicable actions.”

Hodge now faces a total of nine charges, including three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, prison escape or attempt to escape, criminal mischief and more.

His bond was set at $17,500.
