Eagle-eyed Today With Jenna & Friends viewers may have noticed that the fourth hour of The Today Show has been airing pre-recorded episodes highlighting some of their best celebrity interviews. But when will Today With Jenna & Friends return with new episodes?
This week, Jenna Bush Hager was joined by Today anchor Savannah Guthrie for some hilarious pre-recorded morning chats. The pair endlessly ribbed each other on the air, with Bush Hager joking that she’s an entire “generation younger” than Guthrie because of their 10-year age gap, and Guthrie teasing Bush Hager about bringing boys around the “governor’s mansion” when her father was in office.
This week’s episodes featured a new pre-recorded chat between the co-hosts as they discussed recent headlines and trends between jokes, followed by a variety of the show’s “best” interviews that highlighted amazing women, beauty, music and inspirational stories. Previous interviews with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Clarkson, Tiffany Haddish and more were re-aired on the show this week.
It remains to be seen who will guest host Today With Jenna & Friends next week. However, we now have a better idea of when the show will return with new episodes after this hiatus.
The Today Show website notes Today With Jenna & Friends will continue airing “Best-of episodes” through Friday, Aug. 29. It remains unclear when the show will return with new episodes, however, it is fairly standard for talk shows to take hiatuses during the summer and return with new episodes after Sept. 1, or Labor Day.
Bush Hager teased what fans should expect next week during Friday’s (Aug. 22) broadcast.
“It’s a week of star power on Jenna & Friends. We catch up with the hilarious Wanda Sykes, plus, we’ll debate some ‘Dad Dilemmas’ with our pal, Jimmy Fallon,” Bush Hager said. “Also, Sarah Michelle Gellar whips up one of her favorite go-to healthy meals, and we’ll work out with Oscar winner Halle Berry. That’s all next week on Jenna & Friends.”
She also teased that Scarlett Johansson will be appearing, as well as Bowen Yang.
