Timothée Chalamet skipped the Met Gala 2025 red carpet to watch the New York Knicks game from home — despite his girlfriend Kylie Jenner attending the star-studded event.
The “Dune” actor shared photos of himself watching on an iPad as the Knicks faced off against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Eastern Conference Semi-finals Game 1 to his Instagram Story Monday night.
In another selfie, Chalamet was seen gathering around the game with a group of pals.
Chalamet posted about his sporty night in just moments before the “Kardashians” star ascended the Met steps wearing a tweed gown with a sheer corset bodice by Ferragamo, perfectly matching the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme.
The makeup mogul seemingly hinted that Chalamet would be rooting for the NBA team instead of attending the gala earlier in the day when she shared several bikini-clad selfies wearing a Knicks cap.
The couple, who have been dating for two years, have never walked the red carpet together.
The “A Complete Unknown” actor has only attended the ball once, making his debut in 2021, where he boldly teamed his Haider Ackermann satin tuxedo and Cartier brooch with sweatpants and Converse sneakers.
“Whenever I visit America, I am always struck by the wonderful clash of uptown and downtown cultures, of music and sports, and all of this energy just mixing together,” Ackermann — who is close friends and a frequent collaborator with Chalamet — told Vogue of the outfit, referencing that year’s theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”
He co-hosted the event that same year alongside Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman.
Though Chalamet hadn’t returned to the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Arts, Jenner’s 2023 gown may have been a subtle tribute to her beau, with the makeup mogul wearing a fiery red gown by Ackermann for Jean Paul Gaultier after she was named the face of the French fashion brand.
While he may be a relative Met newbie — especially compared to his girlfriend, who has attended seven times in the past — but he’s at the top of the fashion industry right now.
He paid homage to Bob Dylan numerous times throughout the promotional tour for the biopic, from bold blond hair to leather suits and diamond bolo ties.
