NextImg:Why Taylor Swift fans think she’s the author of a mysterious nonfiction book

“It’s me, hi.” Not so fast.

Taylor Swift fans are convinced the music superstar is releasing a memoir after a publishing imprint teased a mysterious nonfiction book with a release date of July 9.

However, Page Six can confirm that Swift is not the author.

Macmillan Publishers’ Flatiron Books recently put up a publication for preorder under the working title “4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023.”

While its cover, author and official title have yet to be unveiled, the publisher did share that the hardcover edition has 544 pages and that it is a biography or memoir.

The mysterious description had Swifties scrambling.

Page Six can confirm, however, the “Blank Space” singer is not the author of the mystery book.

Ever since, the book has been a mainstay on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other retailers’ preorder lists — in large part because Swifties think the “All Too Well” singer is behind it.

Their evidence? Well, firstly, Swift’s favorite number is famously 13.

Flatiron teased that all will be revealed on June 13, and the tome’s page count — when broken down as 5+4+4 — equals 13.

On top of that, the Grammy winner is releasing a rerecorded version of her 2010 album, “Speak Now,” on July 7, just two days before the mystifying book hits stores. Plus, in her social-media announcement of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” she used the phrase “dear reader” and said fans could hear the album “just in time for July 9.”

However, July 9 evidently holds a different significance for 33-year-old Swift, as she mentions the date in her “Speak Now” song “Last Kiss.”

So who is the author of “4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023”?

A sales rep from Edelweiss, a digital catalog platform used by publishers, ruled out any “political” options, spilling that it is a “fun, celebratory title and will skew slightly younger, but is for people of all ages” (per Variety).

The rep added, “This has global appeal and will have massive publicity. I would [compare] this to Flatiron’s Matthew Perry memoir … and a little bit to ‘Spare’ by Prince Harry.”

Only time will tell.
