Move over, Ryan Reynolds — a new gin brand is taking over.
Blake Lively’s husband won’t receive free product placement for his alcohol company, Aviation Gin, in the sequel to her 2018 movie with Anna Kendrick, “A Simple Favor.”
Instead, her character, Emily Nelson, will be sipping on her director Paul Feig’s gin brand in the upcoming follow-up flick, “Another Simple Favor.”
The filmmaker revealed the swap to Entertainment Weekly, assuring the outlet that his brand, Artingstall’s Brilliant London Dry Gin, will be the only martini-making alcohol used in the movie.
“There’s no more Aviation. This movie is all Artingstall’s all the time,” Feig said of his booze brand that he launched in 2020, two years after the thriller hit the box office.
“I’m very proud of my brand. And actually, our bottle is so beautiful that it fits in. It doesn’t feel like it doesn’t belong,” he added before joking, “There’s never a shortage of martinis in any of my movies.”
Fans will remember that Reynolds’ gin was featured in the first movie, with his real-life wife’s martini-loving character pulling out his Aviation Gin to make a “real martini” for her frenemy Stephanie (Kendrick).
Feig again used the actor’s brand when he did a promotional sketch for Regal Cinemas at the time.
In September 2018, the filmmaker — who also directed hits like “Bridesmaids,” “Ghostbusters,” and the TV show “Freaks and Geeks” — shared how Reynold’s gin made it into the movie.
“I was trying to clear another gin, and Blake’s like, ‘Hey! Ryan’s got this gin that he really likes!’ She really liked the company and everybody involved,” he told Cosmopolitan.
“I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t like the look of it on the screen, but I really thought the bottle looked fantastic,” Feig added. “So I, honestly, didn’t even realize the level of involvement that [Ryan] had in it, but I think it’s great, because it’s a really good gin.”
In the past, Lively said that Reynolds “works on everything I do, [and] I work on everything he does,” including a scene in “It Ends With Us.”
“The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that, but you now,” the actress told “E! News” at the film’s premiere in August.
Justin Baldoni, who directed “It Ends With Us” and starred as Lively’s co-star in the flick, has essentially accused the actress of hijacking the movie.
The two are locked in a legal war after the actress sued Baldoni in December, accusing him of sexual harassment on set and orchestrating a public smear campaign against her. In response, Baldoni countersued both Lively and Reynolds for $400 million, citing alleged defamation, civil extortion, and more.
All parties have denied each other’s claims.
However, the actress amended her original complaint against Baldoni last week, claiming she “was not alone in raising allegations of on-set misconduct.”
Baldoni’s attorney denied Lively’s accusations in the amended suit, telling The Post, “Her underwhelming amended complaint is filled with unsubstantial hearsay of unnamed persons who are clearly no longer willing to come forward or publicly support her claims.”
Amid Lively’s legal feud with Baldoni, her “Another Simple Favor” director has jumped to her defense several times.
“I’ve now made two movies with Blake and all I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind people I’ve ever worked with,” Feig wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on December 22 while linking a New York Times article about her original complaint.
He also sang her praises after it was announced that “Another Simple Favor” would be making its debut at South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 7.
After an Instagram user asked, “Paul Feig’s cut or Blake’s cut” on the announcement, Feig replied, “It’s my cut. There is no other cut. Blake has been nothing but supportive and a dream to work with. She is the best and an amazing collaborator and I’m her biggest fan.”
Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 2026.
