Whoopi Goldberg has now been missing from The View since Tuesday (Jan. 21), and we’re feeling her absence. While we love Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro, it simply isn’t the same without our trusty moderator!
But as they say, the show must go on, and it certainly has. There’s been plenty of action despite Goldberg’s absence. Just yesterday (Jan. 23), Behar was shocked to learn the nickname Donald Trump supporters have latched onto for the president during his second term.
As Griffin told her, “75 million Americans who voted for him [are] out there … calling him ‘daddy,'” Behar exclaimed, “Daddy’s back? What? Daddy’s back?“
Also on Thursday’s show, Haines and Hostin sparred over Trump’s DEI cuts, with Haines claiming such programs have “been a bureaucracy of money suck that have not gotten anywhere.” Hostin disagreed and warned that Trump’s actions will harm women and people of color.

Goldberg is missing from The View for the fourth day now. While we miss her, we won’t be without her for much longer! So, what happened to Whoopi? Easy answer: The longtime co-host has been absent from table because of work outside of the show. The woman is an EGOT, after all. Behar shared with viewers on Wednesday (Jan. 22) that Goldberg has been working in Paris.
Goldberg shared a video message for The View fans filmed from Paris, where she was visiting the Notre Dame cathedral for the first time in three decades. While she didn’t share what she’s up to in the City of Light, we’re hoping it has something to do with the third Sister Act film, which is listed among her upcoming projects on IMDb.
We also noticed Goldberg at Paris fashion week, where she was captured by the Interview magazine Instagram account in a video filmed at the Ami Fall-Winter 25 runway show on Thursday. We have to stan.
Today marks Goldberg’s final day off from The View. She is expected back on the show this Monday, Jan. 27.
