Viewers expecting brand new episodes of Today With Jenna & Friends may have to wait a bit longer as the NBC talk show will be airing some of its best celebrity interviews from recent months this week.
The NBC talk show will be airing pre-recorded episodes all week with Savannah Guthrie as guest host. Though Guthrie’s morning chats with Jenna Bush Hager will be pre-recorded this week, that doesn’t mean they will be any less entertaining, as Monday’s broadcast proved.
Guthrie and Bush Hager debated the meaning of the word “hedonistic,” – which Guthrie said sounds like she’s “having an orgy or something” – and feared for their lives while they discussed whether pearl earrings are truly a turn-off for men.
“I feel a little bit bad even discussing this because I feel like my grandmother up there in the high heavens might strike me down,” Bush Hager said of her grandmother, the late First Lady Barbara Bush. “She wore pearls and I found her to be lovely and attractive and my grandfather was very much into her.”
The longtime friends’ chemistry always finds a way to shine through when they’re in front of a camera together, and Guthrie proved to be the perfect co-host for an episode aimed at highlighting the “amazing women” who have been on Today With Jenna & Friends this year, including Sarah Jessica Parker, model Winnie Harlow, Sofia Vergara and more.
While there was not a brand-new episode of Today With Jenna & Friends today, the show will likely be back with new episodes soon. Today With Jenna & Friends appears to be on a brief summer hiatus, which is customary for talk shows.
Before it rebranded to Today With Jenna & Friends, the show went on hiatus around this time last summer as well when it similarly aired pre-recorded host chats followed by some of the show’s most memorable interviews.
Next up, Today With Jenna & Friends will highlight some of its most inspiring conversations from the past year with stars such as Kelly Clarkson, Olivia Munn, and Tiffany Haddish.
But the daily talk show will also continue featuring fresh content and new chats between Guthrie and Bush Hager to kick off the broadcast.
