Friday feels different at the Hot Topics table without Joy Behar stepping in as moderator. Yet, that’s just what happened this morning when Whoopi Goldberg made a rare Friday morning appearance on The View while Behar — who usually fills in for her at the end of the week — missed her third show this week.
When the ladies walked out to the show’s iconic theme song (which happens to be a favorite of Behar’s), we saw Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin, but no Behar. Notably, the longtime co-host also missed yesterday’s (April 10) show.
The last time we saw Behar live on our screens was the Wednesday (April 9) show, when she and her co-hosts discussed President Donald Trump’s tariff plans. That day, Griffin said she wanted to hear DOGE head Elon Musk‘s take on the tariffs as someone who lost a substantial amount of money — although he gained a good amount back when Trump rolled back the tariffs.
Also on the Wednesday show, Behar got vocal about Trump’s plans for a military parade in Washington, D.C. the same day as his 79th birthday. Behar scoffed on the show, “Who do you think is paying for this?!”
We certainly miss her colorful commentary this morning. Where is Behar today? Here’s everything we know about her absence from The View.
Fans who’ve been longtime viewers of The View know that when Goldberg is off on Fridays, Behar fills in. Goldberg herself addressed her unusual presence on a Friday episode this morning.
She told the audience, “Now I know that y’all are watching this and you’re going, ‘Wait — what the hell is going on here?’ Yes, it is Friday.”

Haines piped up, “Nobody told Whoopi!” to which the moderator quipped, “Oh no, many people told me.”
She then went on to explain, “But Joy is under the weather today, and you know, I can’t leave y’all hanging. So I wanted to make sure I was here.”
Loyal View fans won’t have to wait long to see more of Behar on their screens. Goldberg noted this morning, “She’ll be back on The Weekend View streaming on ABC News Live Saturdays and Sundays.”
We’re hoping she feels better soon, and that we’ll see her Monday morning.
To watch The View, you’ll need to do so through ABC, the show’s home network. The View airs on ABC every weekday at 11/10c. You can also stream The View through the ABC website with a valid cable login or on platforms including Fubo, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV and Sling TV.
