NextImg:Why I’m ending my donations to US Jewish groups and seeking new leadership to protect US Jews

For decades, I’ve proudly supported Jewish organizations.

I’ve written checks, attended galas and responded to fundraising calls from groups like the Anti-Defamation League.

I did it because I believed in the mission: to safeguard the Jewish people, support Israel and protect our community from hatred.

But today, I say with sadness: These organizations have failed us.

Kathyrn Wolf made the case as plain as could be in Sunday’s Post.

That’s why I’ll be ending my donations to these groups and pushing for a new Jewish regime to emerge that I can support.

Fact is, the rise of antisemitism in America isn’t theoretical.

It’s happening now — on college campuses, in boardrooms, on the streets of Boulder and Washington, DC.

Jewish students are harassed.

Synagogues are vandalized.

The Jewish state is demonized while terrorist groups are celebrated.

And where are our leaders?

They’re overly silent, timid or worse: too afraid of offending progressive donors to speak the truth.

For too long, we’ve put our faith and our dollars into institutions that refuse to adapt.

Jewish Federations still pretend Jewish safety is a bipartisan, secular issue.

The ADL wins headlines for its important documentation of antisemitism but won’t defend Jews exclusively and without at least some moral equivalence.

This is not a partisan issue.

This is a survival issue: If you’re a Jew in America today, especially an openly Zionistic or religious one, your safety is far from assured.

Nor are strongly worded press releases and DEI panels remotely close to the solution.

We need new leadership.

We need an organization that tells the truth, fights back hard and unapologetically takes sides.

That says things others won’t, like: Radical Islam is a clear and present danger in America — and the left is often a part of the problem.

Because not rocking the boat in the face of evil isn’t a virtue. It’s deadly cowardice.

This new movement must call out antisemitism wherever it exists.

That includes in left-wing movements, radical Islamic circles that promote extremism and the halls of power — whether it’s a college president, a Squad member or someone like Vice President Kamala Harris, who disgracefully sucked up to antisemites to win votes.

The sad truth is most American Jews still vote for the very party that enables this antisemitism: Democrats.

That must change.

Jews must also stop prioritizing other causes and minorities above the safety of their own people.

Too many are more concerned with “social justice” than Jewish defense.

Jews need time to stand up proudly and loudly — for our own people.

Just as President Donald Trump puts America First, we are now forced to put Jewish Americans first.

Trump, notably, has shown Israel extraordinary support and come down like a ton of bricks on antisemites (even though most Jews voted against him).

That kind of bold clarity has been missing from our own Jewish institutions.

When synagogues are attacked and Jewish students are hunted on campuses, Jewish groups call for more education and interfaith events.

Clearly, it ain’t working.

Instead of issuing statements and obsessing over right-wing social-media posts, Jewish organizations need to step up their game:

Thankfully, Jews are getting some key support, even beyond Trump.

Elected officials such as Florida Reps. Randy Fine (R), Jared Moskowitz (D) and Byron Donalds (R) and New York Reps. Ritchie Torres (D) and Elise Stefanik (R) have been standing tall.

We must support leaders like these at every level: school boards, city councils and state legislatures.

And we need an organizational structure to get it all done.

This new movement must be multi-generational but led by young adults — unapologetic Jewish leaders who speak boldly and act decisively.

The old guard that does little beyond begging for respect and protection from our enemies must be replaced.

Enough is enough. We cannot raise our children in a country where their Jewish identity is a liability.

We cannot fund organizations too cautious, political and sclerotic to defend us.

We cannot ignore the warning signs history has taught us to see.

To my fellow Jews who feel abandoned: You are not alone.

We are millions strong.

But now we must organize, speak with one voice and demand more.

A new Jewish movement is coming.

It will be unflinching, unapologetic and finally willing to do what others have failed to do: protect our people.

I, for one, am ready to stand up.

And I know I’m not alone.
