Now that Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has pled guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges, Whoopi Goldberg is ready for Republicans to drop the hoopla about his laptop.
During this morning’s episode of The View, the Hot Topics panel weighed in on Hunter’s recent plea deal — which also helped him avoid jail time after he lied about his drug use when purchasing a handgun.
In response to Republicans calling the outcome a “sweetheart deal,” Goldberg presumed that the party is still looking for charges that aren’t there.
“If you get investigated — if they’re doing an investigation — I’m all for it. Investigate everything. Everybody. Everything,” she said. “But if you took five years and this is what you came up with, I’m gonna assume you didn’t find very much more that was chargeable.”
Goldberg later called out Republicans who are still obsessing over Hunter’s laptop — which the party alleged held proof of corruption by then-Democratic nominee Joe when it was found back in October 2020.
“I want them to go through that damn laptop,” she fumed. “I’m sick of hearing about this laptop. This laptop — I hope it just crumbles to death. I hate it so much.”
Sunny Hostin chimed in to note that Hunter has struggled from a “terrible addiction problem” and explained that — from what she’s seen and read — the laptop had “pictures of him nude,” pictures of him with “women,” with “guns” and “doing drugs.”

Despite its scandalous content, Goldberg wants Republicans to “shut up” about the laptop.
“It’s not gonna stop y’all from going after Biden,” she said. “We know you’re gonna keep looking. Because you’re lookers. You look away when you see something that’s actually worth seeing but you gonna look for something that’s not really there.”
The longtime moderator added that she wants the GOP to do their “damnedest to get all the stuff” they need to incriminate Hunter — because that’s what prosecutors did with Donald Trump, who was recently charged with 37 counts relating to his handling of classified documents.
“They made a case so strong in four, five states that they could take [Trump] to task. Because you can’t do the stuff that he did,” she said. “If you can find something on [Hunter] then show the nation. But stop holding up BS stuff when there’s nothing there.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
