Whoopi Goldberg brought The View to a standstill Monday (June 9) after she admitted that she believed President Trump‘s public spat with Elon Musk was entirely “fake.”
Goldberg let her co-hosts weigh in on the topic before she shared her final thoughts. After her co-hosts gloated over Trump and Musk’s falling out and expressed their disbelief at watching the two figures take shots at each other on social media, Goldberg announced, “I love that you all bought into it. I do believe it’s fake, it’s too strategic.”
Her statement seemed to shock her co-hosts, who all fell silent after a rather spirited debate about the feud.
But Alyssa Farah Griffin wasn’t so sure. “It’s not fake. You’re giving them too much credit,” she said.
“I just feel like, oh yeah, now suddenly everybody’s upset about stuff. I’m sorry, no, this is another distraction to keep us talking – not about the stuff we’re talking about, but the stuff they want us to,” Goldberg maintained. “They lie, they lie all the time.”
Ana Navarro also seemed to believe the feud was very real, as she called Musk and Trump “so legitimately crazy.”

“I don’t believe anything they say anymore because they have shown themselves not to be the most trustworthy people you want,” Goldberg said.
Fake or not, Sunny Hostin seemed to find the entire debacle very amusing.
She was the first to sound off against President Trump and Musk during the discussion.
“I will tell you that the fact the big beautiful bromance is over was just very funny to me,” she said. “I mean, you have the president of the United States publicly squabbling with the richest man in the world on the social media sites that they own, fighting against each other.”
Hostin went on to say the feud was “so messy” to witness.
“And they say a woman is too emotional to run the country? Okay,” she said.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
