On today’s episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg and her fellow hosts discussed recent research that revealed that a partner who is good in bed might actually be a narcissist who is only eager to please so they can get positive feedback and can control the relationship.

The resulting conversation was a lengthy chat that got just about everyone on the panel riled up with opinions on the study and the kinds of things that guarantee good loving in the bedroom.

“I don’t understand why being a good partner in the bedroom is a bad thing,” Sunny Hostin responded when she first heard the headline.

“I got thinking about it, I mean… Donald Trump is probably a narcissist and Stormy Daniels said he was terrible in bed, so it doesn’t exactly hold up,” Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, while Sara Haines took a more practical approach, saying she thinks “a narcissist reveal[s] themself way before they get to the bedroom.”

Goldberg then interjected playfully, “Listen, a good hit and run is a good hit and run. Ninety percent of the time, I’m not there for conversation.”

Meanwhile, Joy Behar joked, “You know what I really think this shows? One man is not enough for most women. We need two guys. We need two guys, a narcissist who’s great in the sack and we need another to take out the garbage, you have to have the balance.”

Griffin then said that when she thinks of a narcissist, she thinks of the character Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, “looking at themselves the whole time, not the woman” she said, before realizing she was physically trying to mime a person trying to look at themself in a mirror, and getting ribbed by Hostin, who laughed, “You almost acted that out!”

“You know, if you get an electronic partner, you don’t have to worry about that,” Goldberg interjected, receiving thunderous applause from the audience. She continued, “Because they’re good when the batteries work, and they’re not when the battery’s out.”

“Say hello to my little friend!” Behar added.

See? There’s a reason Whoopi gets to sit at the head of the table. She always brings the right perspective to the conversation.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
