Whoopi Goldberg was not feeling Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s interruptions on this morning’s episode of The View. While discussing Wednesday night’s (Sept. 27) GOP debate, Goldberg let her co-host know loud and clear when it was her turn to talk — and, more importantly, when it wasn’t.
Griffin — the only Republican on the Hot Topics panel — has long been an advocate of Republican hopeful Nikki Haley since before the start of the debates. While she praised her “vision” and ability to discuss policy, Sunny Hostin was quick to shut it down.
“I think she’s a hypocrite,” Hostin said of Haley. “I think she’s looking for her moment somehow. I don’t think she’s qualified. She actually said to Vivek [Ramaswamy], ‘When I listen to you, I’m dumber.’ Yet, she wrote a glowing blurb for his book before the debate.”
Hostin continued to read Haley’s blurb as Griffin chimed in, asking, “Don’t you think blurbing someone’s book is different than endorsing them for President of the United States?”

When Griffin continued to speak over Hostin, Goldberg told her to “let her finish,” before going on to share her own opinion on the politician. According to the EGOT, she wanted to know what Haley had done for the country, prompting Griffin to jump back in with the fact that she was a “successful two-term governor.”
“Wait a minute. She was an OK governor. She wasn’t a great governor. And you may think she’s the cat’s meow. I do not,” Goldberg sharply replied, quickly putting her hand up to block another interruption from Griffin. “When I listen to her, I want to hear somebody say, ‘And here’s what we’re gonna do.'”
Meanwhile, Griffin questioned whether her co-hosts actually watched the debate — and threw her arms up in defeat when Goldberg continued to speak, which visibly frustrated the longtime moderator.
“I listen to Republicans. Listen, I’ve been sitting listening to you and I’ve been quiet for everybody,” she fired back. “So I’m just saying, I try. And I didn’t hear the thing that I needed to hear as an American, [which was], ‘What are you going to do about this and this?'”
