When The View welcomed President Joe Biden to the Hot Topics table for his tenth visit to the show today, they couldn’t seem to escape the topic of Donald Trump.

As the Hot Topics table discussed Biden’s choice to drop out of the presidential race in July, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked if he thought he could have beat Trump at the polls.

“Mr. President, do you think had you stayed in the race would you have won?” she asked him.

Biden swiftly replied, “Yes. I was confident I would beat Trump. He’s a loser,” as Whoopi Goldberg asserted, “Listen, I didn’t like the way they did it,” referring to how Biden’s resignation from the race unfolded.

“I’m just going to say it out loud, because nobody says it out loud. I didn’t like the way it was done publicly, I thought they could have done this in a different way because we didn’t need to hear all the inner fighting,” she continued. “I didn’t like it, I’m saying it to you. You were my ride-or-die, I was going wherever you were going.”

After applause from the audience died down, Goldberg told the President, “I just wanted to say that, because I always felt you were going to probably do four years and then try to figure out where to go with Kamala [Harris]. Then, he just wouldn’t— he was like a, a bug!” referring, of course, to Trump.

She added, “He just kept being there, he was like a bug right there. Bzzz, bzzzz,” and as she spoke, Biden pretended to smash an imaginary bug under his palm, much to the amusement of the audience and the co-hosts.

“You felt that what was needed and you did it, and I just want to say thank you, but thank you for everything you’ve done in my entire lifetime,” she told Biden.
