The Masked Singer kicked off Season 10 with a special episode that featured a major performance from a former Disney Channel star and gave us a special look back on the past ten seasons of the hit series.
After Anonymouse started the episode off with a performance of Heart’s “What About Love,” The Masked Singer took a walk down memory lane to rank the show’s top five best performances. The top performances included Peacock’s performance from “The Greatest Show” and Monster’s performance of “Stay With Me,” both of which have still held up since Season 1.
Peacock earned second place in Season 1 behind Monster, who was revealed to be rapper and singer T-Pain. Bee, unmasked as Gladys Knight, placed third.
Though it happened almost four years ago, Peacock’s stunning performance outshone Anonymouse’s performances and unmasking in the Season 10 premiere. Rather than performing throughout the season, Anonymouse was revealed in the same episode after a memorable performances and three clues. It was Demi Lovato all along!
But who was the Peacock on The Masked Singer?
The Peacock was unmasked at the end of Season 1, revealing him to be none other than actor and singer Donny Osmond.
Osmond was the very first person to take the stage when The Masked Singer premiered on FOX in 2019. Most fans of the show speculated that it was him beneath the mask after he hinted, “it’s been a while since your mom had posters of me on her bedroom wall.”
Osmond’s clues also added that he began working in the industry at the age of five and alluded to Las Vegas, where the singer had a residency with his sister Marie Osmond for 11 years before he began his own.
Marie accidentally confirmed her brother’s mystery identity in an interview with Access Hollywood while he was competing on the show. After the Access Hollywood hosts practically grilled her on the clues the Peacock gave, she seemingly confirmed it was him by saying, “I know, I told him, ‘Why are you giving away such easy clues?’”
The singer later returned to the show in Season 8 for a special “Vegas” episode. It looks like Osmond remains an audience favorite, even all these years later.
The Masked Singer Season 10 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 27, on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.
