If there’s one thing James Gunn is going to do, it’s introduce you to a comic book character you probably have never heard of. In Peacemaker Season 2, that character is Sasha Bordeaux.
Appearing in the first episode of the highly anticipated second season — we know that term gets thrown around a lot, but it had been three and a half years since Season 1 of the HBO Max action comedy, so it feels apt in this context — Sasha Bordeaux is an A.R.G.U.S. agent assigned to monitor Peacemaker’s (John Cena) activities. She is one member of a larger team, which also includes General Rick Flagg Sr. (Frank Grillo) and Agent Langston Fleury (Tim Meadows), hellbent on finding what is causing a quantum rift and how Peacemaker connects to it.
In her first scene, Bordeaux immediately makes a splash as she references an earlier quantum situation in Metropolis, which Flagg calls “The Luthor Incident,” referencing Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and his role in Superman, which takes place one month before the events of Peacemaker Season 2.
It’s clear that Bordeaux is going to be at the center of this season as they work to try and stop Peacemaker. But who plays this new and intriguing character? And how does her character align with the Sasha Bordeaux character in the comics? Here’s everything you need to know about the actress behind the role and the character that is sure to be talked about.

In Peacemaker Season 2, Agent Sasha Bordeaux is played by singer, actress, and model Sol Rodriguez. Originally from Argentina, Rodriguez made her on-screen debut in the Nickelodeon Latin America series Grachi in 2011, where she played Mercedes “Mecha” Estevez in more than 200 episodes. Coincidentally, fellow DC Universe newcomer María Gabriela de Faría — the Venezuelan-born actress behind the role of The Engineer in Superman — also starred in the series, and the two even connected as Peacemaker and Superman filmed consecutively.
After Grachi, Rodriguez had several recurring roles in telenovelas based in the United States, including Demente Criminal, Tierra de Reyes, and Marido en Alquiler. She then made the jump to English-language programming, playing Daniela Mercado in Season 4 of Lifetime’s Devious Maids. She later took roles in shows like NCIS and Party of Five before booking a recurring role as Teresa in Star Trek: Picard.

Before being cast in Peacemaker, Rodriguez also starred in Holiday in the Vineyards, a Netflix Christmas movie also starring General Hospital‘s Josh Swickard. Just months after that film’s release, news broke that she would be joining the HBO Max comedy series for the second season, which she called “a dream come true!” in a post at the time of her casting announcement.
Which leads us to today! In Season 2 Episode 1, “The Ties that Grind,” Rodriguez’s character appeared on screen for the very first time, which she marked on her own social media pages by sharing photos from the set and acknowledging the honor of getting to join this franchise.
“Last Thursday Sasha Bordeaux was introduced in the first episode of the second season of Peacemaker. The type of character I always dreamed of playing. Never thought possible. In the most badass show in existence with the greatest people ever ????????,” Rodriguez posted.
In the DC Comics, Sasha Bordeaux — who first makes her appearance in Detective Comics #751 — is a former Secret Service Agent who was hired by WayneCorp to protect Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman. Too good at her job, she digs into Wayne’s nightly excursions and discovers his secret identity, forcing him to train her and take her out on patrols.
Her character not only becomes a confidant to Wayne and Batman, although keeping the two lives as divided as church and state, but a potential love interest who turns his head through their working relationship. Through a series of unfortunate events, at one point, Sacha is framed and imprisoned for a murder alongside Bruce Wayne and is tempted to turn on him, but keeps her loyalties intact, even being injured in prison and requiring life-saving intervention by the government agency Checkmate.
In the comics, Rodriguez’s character also has major ties to Blue Beetle, Maxwell Lord — portrayed by James Gunn’s brother, Sean Gunn, in the DC Universe — and Brother I. One particular storyline also sees the character transformed into an OMAC cyborg, a specific type of bionic machine that is caused by a human being infected by a virus.

Is it crazy to think that Sasha being in Peacemaker Season 2 will yield an appearance from Batman? Probably, yes. Although James Gunn did recently respond to one question about whether or not Sasha is going to have a relationship with Batman in the new DC Universe in a similar way that she does in the comics.
“I mean, I think we’ll have to see with what we’re doing with Batman and figuring it out. So obviously we know some basics about where it’s going with Batman, but we’re also figuring some things out. So everything’s fluid,” the DC co-CEO recently told ScreenRant.
Can we hope?!
