Nick Offerman landed a special gig at this year’s Oscars — and got the chance to rib both Amy Poehler and host Conan O’Brien in the process.
The announcer at Sunday night’s awards show was none other than the his Parks and Rec alum, who flubbed his former co-star Poehler’s last name while teasing her as the presenter for Adapted and Original Screenplay.
The shenanigans didn’t end there, as later on, O’Brien was interrupted by Offerman announcing that it was O’Brien’s “first time hosting the Oscars.”
O’Brien replied, “That is true.”
As he attempted to proceed, O’Brien was once again interrupted by the familiar voice, which teased, “A lot of pressure.”
O’Brien fired back, “Not really. I’ve hosted a lot of shows. Emmy Awards, music awards.”
The announcer chimed back in, “Well, nothing this big.”
Finally, O’Brien pleaded, “Nick, do me a favor. Please stop interrupting, okay?”
Offerman conceded, “Ok, guy. Just trying to help.”
While O’Brien tried to continue again, Offerman had to get another jab in at the host, quipping, “A challenge this big coming so late in one’s career must weigh on a man’s soul.”

Ultimately, O’Brien requested that Offerman “just read the script [he] gave [him],” as the cameras then showed Offerman backstage.
“He’s one of the greatest comedians of our time: Conan O’Brien,” he read.
