Members of Bachelor Nation who watch the franchise’s shows hoping to catch some quality reality TV drama are often disappointed by season premieres, as the contestants are usually on their best behavior in hopes of making a sparkling first impression. But Night 1 of The Bachelor Season 28 showed one of Joey Graziadei’s 32 women starting some trouble right out of the gate.
After making her grand entrance to the Bachelor mansion sans limo, Jessica Edwards (aka Jess) quickly made an enemy of a fellow contestant and showed early signs of Theresa Nist TMI Syndrome (a Golden Bachelor-inspired term I just coined to label a contestant who overshares intimate relationship details).
Despite the early hesitancy about Jess in the house, Joey sure seems to like her! So we have a feeling she might be on the show a bit longer. Who is Jessica “Jess” Edwards on The Bachelor? What does her official ABC bio say about her? And how long does Reality Steve see her sticking around?
Here’s everything you need to know about Jess, including her age, Instagram profile, and more.
Per Jess’ official ABC bio, the 24-year-old executive assistant from San Diego, California “has always dreamed of finding her perfect fairy-tale love story.”
“She says she is excited to meet Joey because ‘I want to find someone that I can trust my heart with, someone who will respect me, and someone who will do anything to cherish our relationship,'” the bio reads. “When she’s not hard at work helping people who have been impacted by natural disasters, Jessica loves belting out Taylor Swift’s songs, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her adorable Yorkipoo named Charli. Joey, are you ready to be a dog dad? Jessica is a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic who is ready for the real deal, and we can’t wait for her Bachelor journey to begin.”

On Night 1 of The Bachelor, the Season 28 contestant rolled up to the mansion on a boat and told Joey, “Hey, captain. I heard you were looking for a new relationship!” Though she hit it off with the leading man, Jess rubbed several girls in the house the wrong way after she openly gushed over her kiss with Joey. On one hand, Jess told cameras she felt like her strong connection with Joey put a target on her back. On the other hand, she started unnecessary beef with contestant Taylor, after interrupting her conversation with Joey to steal him a second time during the evening.
“I know a lot of girls want to talk to you, but I want to talk to you more,” Jess told Joey. Her fellow contestants — especially Taylor — found Jess’ Night 1 behavior incredibly disrespectful, but Jess didn’t seem to care! “If I could go back in time, I’d probably do it again,” she said. “All the girls should just go on home! You’ll be getting an invite to the wedding …maybe.”
Need more proof that Jess knows how to have fun? Here are her three fun facts:

Want to avoid major Bachelor spoilers? Consider this your chance to stop reading. If you’re curious to know how long Jess Edwards might stick around, however, we’ve got a Reality Steve rumor below.
Per a Reality Steve post from November 29, 2023, Jess is eliminated at some point during Week 6 in Montreal, Canada. It sounds like she might not make it to the rose ceremony, so could more drama lie ahead?
As always, Reality Steve rumors are only rumors until proven otherwise. So we’ll have to tune in to new episodes Mondays from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET on ABC or watch next-day on Hulu to find out. In the meantime, be sure to read our interview with Joey Graziadei for more Bachelor insights.
