A new season of Netflix‘s My Life with the Walter Boys means new characters, and one of the most surprising additions to Season 2 is undoubtedly Blake Hartford.

When fans first heard the gender neutral name, they may not have thought too hard about the champion rodeo rider who was hired to teach Alex (Ashby Gentry) the ins and outs of bronc riding game. But Blake’s Season 2, Episode 2 intro likely made jaws (including Alex’s!) drop.
Since Blake plays a crucial role in Season 2 and will seemingly be around for Season 3, which is currently in production, we figured it’s time to learn more the character and new cast member.

As noted, Blake Hartford is the instructor that Katherine hires for Alex after she accepts the terrifying fact that he wants to become a bronc rider and professionally compete.
Blake first appears at the end of My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2, Episode 2 when she walks into the barn while Alex is brushing her horse and introduces herself: “I’m Blake, the rodeo trainer? I’m here to make sure you don’t die.” She’s smooth! She’s stylish! She’s got great hair! She’s 18! And when Alex’s jaw drops and *the* Shania Twain’s bop, “Giddy Up!” stars to play, it’s clear she’s about to make quite an impact on his life.
In Episode 3, the two start their training, and Blake, as well as Alex’s bronc riding dreams, serve as a much-needed distraction from his feelings for Jackie. As the two continue to spend hours bonding over their love of horses, riding, and competition, the sexual tension between them grows and, no spoilers, but they do eventually cross a line. As noted, Blake Hartford on My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 is played by Natalie Sharp, a 29-year-old actor, singer, and songwriter from Canada. With nearly 40 IMDb credits prior to her role on My Life with the Walter Boys, Sharp kickstarted her on-screen career in 2011 and has appeared in popular TV series and films including Supernatural, Hit the Road, BH90210, The Miracle Season, The Flash, Wilderness, and more.
