The series finale of Disney+‘s Andor ends with Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and droid pal K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) preparing to meet Tivik (Daniel Mays) in the Ring of Kafrene. It’s a fun little Easter egg for Star Wars fans eager to know just how exactly Andor leads directly into the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. (After all, we first meet Cassian Andor in that film during this specific mission!)
However, the Andor finale also reveals a surprising new twist for Cassian Andor’s overall lore in the Star Wars universe.
**Spoilers for Andor Season 2 Episode 12 “Jedha, Kyber, Erso,” now streaming on Disney+**
In the final moments of Andor Season 2 Episode 12 “Jedha, Kyber, Erso,” we learn what happened to Cassian’s love, Bix (Adria Arjona). Andor fans will remember that Bix dramatically left Cassian on Yavin IV because she believed she was hindering his devotion to the cause. She chose his destiny with the Rebellion over a happily ever after with him. Now, we know that she also left because she was pregnant with their child. Andor ends with an idyllic shot of Bix holding their baby among the grain fields of Mina-Rau.
“Anybody who was in doubt about what Bix was doing in Episode 9, when she’s leaving…anybody who was rubbing against that or doubtful about that will now, I hope, be a bit more sanguine about it knowing that she was probably pregnant when she left,” Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy told DECIDER last week.
Okay, so Bix and Cassian have a baby who lives on in the Star Wars galaxy long after Cassian sacrifices his own life stealing the Death Star plans in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. So who is Cassian’s baby? Does Andor’s son (or daughter) have a larger part to play in the fight against the Dark Side?
Here’s everything we know about Cassian’s kid in Star Wars…

Who is Cassian’s son in Andor? (And we’re assuming that it’s a boy because of the blue blanket, I guess?) Is Cassian the father of Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron?!? Is the baby destined to grow up to be Mandalorian hero Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal)?!? WHO IS THE BABY AT THE END OF ANDOR?!
We have bad news for Star Wars fans hoping to find Easter eggs everywhere. We’re 99.99% sure Cassian and Bix’s baby is just a baby. In fact, Tony Gilroy himself told us the baby represents the hope of a brighter future.
“Primarily I wanted to have something hopeful at the end of this,” Gilroy said. “I mean I’m really, we’re punishing a lot of people in this show.”
“We know where [Cassian Andor’s] going and I really, I would be bereft if there was not a candle in the window at the end of this thing,” he continued. “I really, I think, I really wanted to have hope, so there’s that.”
“It also magnifies Cassian’s tragedy, really. The child that he doesn’t even know about or ever meet or know what he’s missing. It amplifies that in some elements.”
Still convinced the baby is Poe Dameron? Well, he can’t be! Poe Dameron was literally born on Yavin IV two years after the events of the Andor series finale. His mother, Shara Bey, was a Rebel pilot in Green Squadron and his father, Kes Dameron, was part of a special Rebel forces group called the Pathfinders. THE BABY IS NOT POE DAMERON.
Hoping the baby is Din Djarin? (Because, I don’t know, all Latinos in space must be related?) Well, you’re wrong! The Mandalorian totally confirms that Din Djarin was adopted by the Mandalorians during the Clone Wars. That means Mando is already like a full grown young man during the events of Andor.
Cassian’s baby is just Cassian’s baby, and honestly, it’s better that way. The fact that we don’t know who this adorable little chubby baby grows up to be means that Bix kept the kid safe. Cassian’s sacrifices ensured that his child didn’t have to resort to violence or suffer under Imperial oppression.
