Netflix’s new political thriller series, The Night Agent, adapted from Matthew Quirk’s 2019 novel, follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) and cybersecurity expert Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) as they try to expose a mole inside the U.S. Government. The show, which premiered on March 23, is currently the top trending show on Netflix, and though much of the show is set in Washington D.C., only some of the exteriors were shot there.

The Night Agent was primarily filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Several of the show’s filming locations include downtown Vancouver, the University of British Columbia campus, the Georgia Street Viaduct, the exterior of the Vancouver Public Library, and the Front Street Parkade. That also means that those scenic shots of the woods that are meant to look like Camp David, the President’s retreat that’s located in Frederick County, Maryland, were actually filmed up north Vancouver, too.

Vancouver is an incredibly popular filming location for film and television, often even referred to as Hollywood North. Films like The Adam Project, and Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between, and shows like Virgin River are also filmed in and around the Pacific Northwest city.

All ten episodes of the first season of The Night Agent are currently available on Netflix. As of now, The Night Agent season two is not yet confirmed, but the series left the season one finale open-ended and there’s certainly a chance we’ll see Agent Sutherland back in action soon.
