Where was 'Deep Cover' filmed? Discover the filming locations for Bryce Dallas Howard's Amazon movie

Deep Cover, the new movie that began streaming on Amazon Prime Video today, is not, in fact, a remake of the 1992 Laurence Fishburne crime drama of the same name. Instead, it’s a new original action comedy starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom, Nick Mohammed as three improv comedians recruited for undercover police work. After all, who is better than making up stuff on the spot than improvisers?
Directed by Tom Kingsley, with a screenplay written by Colin Trevorrow, Derek Connolly, Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen, Deep Cover released via straight-to-streaming on Amazon Prime today, free to anyone with a Prime subscription. The stacked cast also includes Paddy Considine, Ian McShane, and Sean Bean. But you’ll have to watch the movie if you want to know if Sean Bean dies in Deep Cover.
Despite the name, Deep Cover is not that deep. It’s just light-hearted, fun action comedy about the desperate lengths actors will go to in order to book a gig. Hey, the industry is really struggling right now! Even in England, where Deep Cover was filmed.
Here’s what to know about the Deep Cover filming locations in London.

Deep Cover was filmed in a studio at London North Studios, as well as on location in and around the London area, in February 2024.
According to an Instagram post from Bryce Dallas Howard, much of Deep Cover was filmed in the London neighborhood of Shoreditch, which is part of the city’s East End.
Other specific Deep Cover filming locations—according the website 4 Filming—include a local corner store in Hackney, London, where our trio of improvisers ask the shop owner for “something more affordable” in their search for illegal drugs.

In an interview with The New Indian Express, director Tom Kingsley stressed the importance of an on-location shoot for the film.
“The film’s comedy stems from the tension of incompetent characters in genuinely dangerous situations,” Kingsley said. “Thus, our locations had to feel utterly real to maintain believability. It was crucial to portray an authentic London, not a staged studio or a picturesque postcard version. To ground the comedy in reality, we sought out-of-the-way places with dirt and graffiti.”
So there you have it! Deep Cover filmed on location in London. It’s a British comedy through and through.
