More On:

There’s no shortage of intriguing new documentaries to watch as we prepare for a host of new titles to premiere on our favorite streaming platforms. ESPN’s new American Gladiators documentary is now available on ESPN+, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace is on both Max and discovery+, The Secrets of Hillsong has hit Hulu, and the upcoming Duggar family documentary Shiny Happy People is about to debut on Prime Video.

Directed by Julia Willoughby Nason and Olivia Crist, the four-part docuseries purports to expose the truth beneath the wholesome Americana surface of the Duggars, the reality TV family that gained prominence from their TLC series 17 Kids and Counting. Eventually, the family became synonymous with the radical organization “The Institute in Basic Life Principles.” Per Prime Video, “as details of the family and their scandals unfold, we realize they’re part of an insidious, much larger threat already in motion, with democracy itself in peril.”

When exactly does this compelling documentary premiere on Prime Video? Here’s everything you need to know.

Shiny Happy People premieres Friday, June 2 on Prime Video.

The upcoming docuseries consists of four episodes.

Prime Video is available for $14.99/month (or $139/year), and you can watch the streaming service via the Prime Video app (available on smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and connected TVs).

A standalone Prime Video membership is available for $8.99/month, and new subscribers can sample the service with a 30-day free trial.

Nope. The doc is exclusive to Prime Video.
