FX’s critically-acclaimed original series The Bear is back for Season 2, and you won’t want to miss a second of Carmy, Syd, Richie, and the rest of the kitchen crew as they transform their Chicago restaurant into something greater.

Season 2 of the show will undergo many changes both in and outside of the kitchen, as characters not only work to rebuild the restaurant, but will look to improve themselves as both chefs and human beings.

In the Season 1 finale of Christopher Storer’s critically acclaimed series, the kitchen team uncovers money that the late Mikey had hidden inside sauce cans. With that money, Carmy will renovate and rebrand the restaurant in his brother’s honor.

In the show, the restaurant is set in Chicago, and much of the series is spent both in and outside of the restaurant. But where did The Bear Season 2 actually film?

Read on to learn about The Bear filming locations, for Season 2 of the FX series now streaming on Hulu.

Season 2 of The Bear was filmed in Arlington Heights and Evanston in Chicago.

According to the Chicago Genius Herald, the show’s producers and the River North Residents Association clashed over the FX series’ allegedly inaccurate and gritty depiction of the neighborhood. As a result, the producers decided to move the shooting location of the show’s second season from Chicago to Arlington Heights.

The new suburban storyline, which will showcase the opening of a new franchise location for The Original Beef of Chicagoland, was also filmed in the Centennial Recreation Complex parking lot, which is situated between Evanston and Wilmette. The cast and crew of The Bear were also spotted setting up to film on Harrison Street and Lincolnwood Drive in Evanston.

So there you have it! The Bear may take place in the Chicago, but it’s actually an Arlington Heights and Evanston production.
