Ted Lasso

It’s almost time to say goodbye to Coach Ted Lasso and the AFC Richmond team as the finale of Jason SudeikisApple TV+ series is coming soon.

Ted Lasso landed with a splash when it premiered in 2020, making stars out of its relatively unknown cast. But its saccharine humor and earnestness wormed its way into everyone’s hearts — so much so, the series has secured 11 Emmy Awards to date.

But if you’re not ready to say goodbye to the underdog tale just yet, the series features some real-life locations that you can still visit and enjoy.

Read on for a guide to Ted Lasso‘s filming locations:

Though the quaint street Lasso lives on looks almost too good to be true, it’s an actual place in the English town of Richmond. Yes, Richmond actually looks like that.

Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein couldn’t believe it either. “When we went to film in Richmond, I was like, ‘fuck,’” he told SFGate. “I kept being like, ‘Is this production design? Did we build this?’ It doesn’t seem real. It already looks fake. It’s too pretty. It’s like, ‘This isn’t real. This isn’t London. Where the fuck are we?’”

Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard and is an executive producer on the show, told People he was “immediately enchanted” by the town.

Production was spotted filming Season 3 on location in October 2022. Multiple videos from that day of filming show Sudeikis wearing Lasso’s signature backpack and chinos as he walks near The Crown & Anchor, the fictional pub he and his co-stars frequent on the show.

In real life, The Crown & Anchor is actually a centuries-old pub known as the Prince’s Head. The pub has become a staple on the show, a place where the coaches, players and fans alike can meet for a pint and stress about their favorite sport.

The Prince’s Head is located on the southern side of Richmond Green, a park we also see often on Ted Lasso. The 12-acre park is where Coach Lasso’s therapist, Dr. Sharon Fieldstone, gets into a biking accident on the show.

Right to the left of The Prince’s Head is the picturesque street Coach Lasso lives on, called Paved Court. The narrow, cobblestone street is lined with shops, cafés and restaurants, and is just as cute in real life as it looks on the show. It’s where we see Coach Lasso and Coach Beard begin their commute to work every day, each armed with their morning cups of coffee.

It is also the home of Chango Empanadas, the Argentinian cafe that Hunt says the cast and crew frequented so much behind the scenes they began using it on the show.

But the magic actually happens at SkyEx Community Stadium, the football pitch where AFC Richmond practices. Production had to film around the practice schedule of Hayes Yeading United Football Club, who regularly practice there.

AFC Richmond’s major games which take place in Nelson Road on the show are actually filmed at Selhurst Park.

Hunt explained that they were not allowed to film on the actual pitch. Scenes that showed the players on the pitch in Wembley Stadium or Nelson Road were digitally altered after being shot at SkyEx.

“Every single Premier League stadium we visited [they told us], ‘Do anything you want, but if any one person sets one foot on this pristine, beautiful Premier League pitch, you’re all gone,'” Hunt said.

The show also reportedly filmed in Amsterdam for a period of time.
