The last two weeks without The View have felt like a lifetime — and luckily for fans of the hit daytime talk show, there is only one more day of waiting until the beloved co-hosts return to ring in the new year.
The last time we saw Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin was on Friday (Dec. 15) — just before they went on their extended leave for the holidays. Plus, it’s been even longer since Joy Behar has appeared at the Hot Topics table as she spent the last week before break fighting COVID. In the weeks since, ABC has taken to airing reruns of the talk show — and now it’s almost time to get back to the regularly scheduled programming.
So, why exactly is The View off the air today? When will it be back with new episodes?
We have the answers to all of your burning questions. Keep reading for more information.
A new episode of The View will not air today because the ladies are still on their annual holiday hiatus. But fear not! They’ll be back sooner than you think.
The View will return with new episodes on Tuesday, Jan. 2, marking the end of a long two-week break for the co-hosts.
When they are back in the studio, they will welcome a slate of exciting guests to the Hot Topics table including Finding Your Roots host Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Kate Hudson. Plus, the group will celebrate Navarro’s birthday on next Friday’s (Jan. 5) episode.

Unfortunately, The View will not air at all today due to a network preemption. While ABC has been playing repeat episodes during the show’s hiatus, the network will instead spend today covering the annual Rose Parade, which starts at 11 a.m. ET.
