If you thought you’d get to see a new slate of Hot Topics on today’s episode of The View, you were unfortunately wrong. Instead of brand new content, ABC will be playing a repeat episode from last month. Why, you ask? Well, we have you covered on everything you need to know.

Whoopi GoldbergSunny HostinSara HainesAna Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin were last seen in The View studio on Friday (Dec. 15). The panel interviewed actors Jessica Chastain, who became emotional about a missed opportunity to thank the late Robin Williams, and Peter Sarsgaard, who revealed what it was like to have his wife direct his “passionate” love scenes.

So, why exactly is The View off the air today? When will it be back with new episodes?

We have the answers to all of your burning questions. Keep reading for more information.

The View is on hiatus this week and next week, with no new episodes airing from Dec. 18 through Dec. 29. The break comes just in time for Christmas and New Year’s, giving the co-hosts an extended leave to spend time with their loved ones.

Since the ladies are on vacation for the holidays, it looks like The View won’t return until after the new year.
