It was an evening of returns last night (September 16) as the season premieres of two favorites, High Potential and Dancing with the Stars, aired on ABC.

Was it great to see our old pal Morgan and a few of our favorite celebrities (let’s go, Jen Affleck!) strut their stuff on the dance floor? Absolutely. But Tuesday nights on ABC feel incomplete without two beloved shows: Will Trent and The Rookie.

Back in August, ABC announced its fall schedule for the 2025 season. The Golden Bachelor debuts on September 24, Abbott Elementary and Shifting Gears will be back with new episodes on October 1, and Thursday, October 9 will be jam-packed with drama as 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy return, along with the series premiere of 9-1-1: Nashville.

Good. Great. Grand! But what about Will Trent? When exactly will this Tuesday night staple return with new episodes? Here’s everything you need to know.

Nope. The season premieres of Dancing with the Stars and High Potential aired on ABC.

You bet! In April 2024, ABC renewed Will Trent for a fourth season of action.

Sadly, Will Trent isn’t on ABC’s fall schedule. Just like last season, ABC is holding The Rookie and Will Trent for midseason. No official premiere date has been announced, but we expect Will Trent to return in January 2026.
