The moment that Lifetime viewers have been waiting for is finally here: it’s time for this year’s V.C. Andrews limited series. The premiere episode of V.C. Andrews’ Dawn kicks off a monthlong event that will bring lots of drama — and plenty of stars — to Lifetime’s weekend lineup.
The new limited series follows Brec Bassinger’s Dawn Longchamp as she tries to fit into a new family, one with an oppressive and demanding matriarch in Lillian Cutler (Donna Mills). From a loving family with no stability to the strictest house on the block — seriously, how many dysfunctional families can one girl handle?

In total there will be 4 episodes of V.C. Andrews’ Dawn. The episode schedule is as follows:
Brec Bassinger (Stargirl) plays Dawn Longchamp; Fran Drescher (The Nanny) plays Agnes Morris; Jesse Metcalfe (Chesapeake Shores) plays Ormand Longchamp; Donna Mills (Knots Landing) plays Lillian Cutler; Miranda Frigon (Aurora Teagarden Mysteries) plays Laura Jean Cutler; Khobe Clarke (Firefly Lane) plays Jimmy Longchamp; and Joey McIntyre (New Kids on the Block) plays Michael Sutton.
Yes. Like last year’s Flowers in the Attic limited series and the Landry Family limited series from 2021, V.C. Andrews’ Dawn is also based on a series of V.C. Andrews novels (ghostwritten by Andrew Neiderman). The novel Dawn was published in 1990 and kicked off Andrews’ Cutler series of novels. The novels Secrets of the Morning, Twilight’s Child, Midnight Whispers, and Darkest Hour followed from 1991 to 1993. If you look at the list of episodes above, you’ll notice that these four episodes correspond to the first four books in the series. Where does that leave Darkest Hour? It may have been omitted from the TV series narrative since that novel is actually a prequel to Dawn, or maybe elements from it will find their way into the other for episodes. You’ll just have to wait and see!
