Not to fear, Season 28 is almost here! Fans of the hit daytime talk show The View — with hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Joy Behar — won’t be left without their favorite panelists for long.
The last time fans saw their favorite talk show live was Aug. 2, the conclusion of Season 27. Hostin announced during the last show that The View would be returning for its 28th season from a brand new state-of-the-art studio in downtown Manhattan, leaving behind their Upper West Side studio from the last 10 years.
The announcement was confirmed later in the day on the show’s official Instagram and X accounts.
The ladies also spent their last show discussing the upcoming presidential election with Pete Buttigieg, menopause, and who on the cast is a “purger” vs. a “hoarder” when moving (Spoiler alert: Ana Navarro loves her shoes).
So, why is The View off the air today? When will it be back live? Here’s everything you need to know.

The View is currently on summer vacation, taking a four-week scheduled hiatus. ABC will be playing reruns in place of the live show during its normal time slot, so you can still get your daily dose of your favorite talkshow hosts! The rerun schedule for their next week off air is below, so read on!
The View is scheduled to return live once again in September. According to a schedule provided by ABC, the last day of show reruns is Sept. 2, meaning that the *unofficial* expected premiere for Season 28 is Sept. 3.
The tentative rerun schedule for The View this week is below, courtesy of ABC:
Thursday, Aug. 8 (ENCORE BROADCAST OAD: 6/11/24) — Jennifer Connelly (actress, Bad Behaviour and Dark Matter); Questlove (author, Hip-Hop Is History)
