Max‘s new medical drama The Pitt takes viewers through an intense fifteen hour shift in the emergency room of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, aka the Pitt. E.R. alum Noah Wyle stars as chief attending Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, a brilliant and caring physician juggling his own trauma from the COVID-19 pandemic with the minute-by-minute stress of his job. The series splits Dr. Robby’s fifteen hour shift over fifteen hour-long episodes. Meaning the whole season equals one day of work for these noble frontline workers.
Besides following Dr. Robby, The Pitt‘s first season also introduces a quartet of eager new interns, a group of determined residents, and some of the most charming nurses onscreen since Call the Midwife. (Princess, I love you!) Not only that, but through the incessant stream of patients that roll through the Pitt, we see everyday people grapple with losing loved ones, confronting hidden abuse, and the trials of elder care.
The Pitt is an addictive, propulsive watch that might very well give you a newfound appreciation for the sacrifices medical workers are still making years after the pandemic. Here’s everything you need to know about The Pitt, how to watch, and more…
