9-1-1

A tech billionaire played by Mark Consuelos gets swallowed by a whale. A meteor shower terrifies Los Angeles resident. Angela Bassett goes to space.

These are but three of the deeply, yet delightfully unhinged events 9-1-1 fans can expect to see in the hit ABC drama’s highly-anticipated Season 9. So naturally, we’re all counting down the seconds until the big opening emergency premieres!

Since Season 8’s finale aired back in May 2025, fans have been eagerly awaiting a reunion with the 118 and their loved ones.

How are Athena (Angela Bassett), May (Corinne Massiah), and Harry (Elijah M. Cooper) healing from the loss of their beloved Bobby (Peter Krause)? Have Buck (Oliver Stark), Hen (Aisha Hinds), Chimney (Kenneth Choi), Eddie (Ryan Guzman), and Ravi (Anirudh Pisharody) found ways to keep Cap’s memory alive while moving the team forward? And is Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) back at the call center or home caring for baby Bobby? We’re about to find out!

Sadly, no! There’s no new episode of 9-1-1 airing on ABC tonight, but fear not! The series returns soon with new Season 9 episodes.

9-1-1 Season 9 premieres Thursday, October 9 on ABC.

Curious what time you’re reuniting with the 118? Tune in to 9-1-1′s Season 9 premiere on Thursday, October 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET, right before the series premiere of new 9-1-1 spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville at 9:00 p.m. ET.

At the time of writing this piece, we’re still eagerly awaiting the 9-1-1 Season 9 trailer, but it’s set to release on October 2, so we’ll be sure to update this article after the drop.

In addition to a 9-1-1 Season 9 trailer, ABC also released four new first-look photos, featuring the 118 and Athena out in the field, plus an in memoriam plaque celebrating Bobby Nash, which marks the renaming of the fires station in his honor.

No cable? No worries! There are other live viewing options, like live TV skinny bundles, which give you access to networks without cable. YouTube TVHulu + Live TV, and fuboTV, all come with ABC. But if you don’t have cable or a live TV skinny bundle, you can stream 9-1-1 episodes the following day on Hulu.
