Thankfully, we haven’t seen the last of Kayce Dutton.
Yellowstone may have concluded, but thankfully, a slew of spinoffs that take place in the Yellowstone universe are in development. We already know about The Madison, the upcoming neo-Western starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, and Matthew Fox, and the previously announced Beth and Rip (Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser) series, and now Beth’s younger brother Kayce is joining the fun.
CBS recently announced that Luke Grimes would reprise his role as Kayce Dutton for a new series, currently titled Y: Marshals, that is set to air Sunday nights on CBS.
Per the official series synopsis, “With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
Spencer Hudnut will serve as the showrunner, and Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan is on board as an executive producer. The show is scheduled to begin shooting this summer.
When will the Luke Grimes Yellowstone spinoff debut on CBS? Here’s everything we know.
CBS recently announced its primetime schedule for the 2025-2026 TV season. Y: Marshals will air Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. on CBS, with the series scheduled to premiere in the spring of 2026.
Yes! Since Y: Marshals will air on CBS, the show will be available for next-day streaming on Paramount+.
Nope. NBCUniversal’s streaming deal with Yellowstone was announced in January 2020, but Taylor Sheridan now has an overall deal with ViacomCBS that lasts through 2028.
Paramount+ is the streaming home of a slew of Sheridan shows — 1923, 1883, Landman, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, to name a few, so Y: Marshals will almost certainly be available for next-day streaming on Paramount+.
Oh, you mean the YSU? Marvel has nothing on Taylor Sheridan. Another Yellowstone spinoff, this one headlined by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, was announced in late 2024, and 1944, a follow-up to Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, has also been announced.
Up next is The Madison, a Yellowstone spinoff starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, and Matthew Fox that centers on a New York City family living in central Montana.
