ABC’s beloved reality series is about to return as a number of melodically gifted contestants compete to become the next singing sensation. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the new season once again features Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie as the superstar judges, but, sadly, this will be Perry’s final season on the show.

The new season of American Idol premieres Sunday, February 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

Yes. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Perry announced that the upcoming season of the series would be her last.
