Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty

Powered by Reelgood

Need something to fill that Sunday night void left by The Righteous Gemstones (or perhaps Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers)? Good news! HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty returns tonight (August 6) for a second season of vintage NBA action.

Based on Jeff Pearlman’s popular Showtime book about the 1980s Lakers dynasty, the second season centers on the period just after the 1980 NBA Finals through the 1984 season, which just so happened to conclude with Magic Johnson’s Lakers battling Larry Bird’s Boston Celtics in the finals. Season 2 once again features a strong cast, with John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Adrien Brody, Jason Segel, and many more back to reprise their roles.

What time does Winning Time Season 2 premiere on HBO and Max? Here’s everything you need to know.

Season 2 debuts on Sunday, August 6, with new episodes airing Sunday nights on HBO.

The second season premiere airs from 9:00-10:14 p.m. ET on HBO and will be available at 9:00 p.m. ET on Max. Encore presentations will air at 10:15 and 11:30 p.m. ET.

You can watch Winning Time Season 2 on HBO or Max, which is available for as little as $9.99/month. An ad-free plan is also available for $15.99/month.

Yes! You can add Max to your Hulu or Prime Video account for an additional $15.99/month. Both platforms offer free trials for eligible subscribers.
