Minx

Minx Season 2 is…coming. The second season of the offbeat sitcom about the creation of the first women’s erotic magazine will premiere on Starz later tonight, immediately after a brand new episode of Outlander. That means you can chase your latest dose of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) with a parade of pornographic delight. After being briefly cancelled by Max, Minx is taking on a bold new chapter at Starz and you’re going to want to be along for the ride…

Minx takes place in early ’70s Los Angeles and follows ambitious feminist writer Joyce Prigger (Ophelia Lovibond) as she reluctantly teams up with erotic magazine publisher Doug Renetti (Jake Johnson) on a groundbreaking publication devoted to putting women on top.

In Minx Season 1, we watched Doug, Joyce, and their friends pulled off a most profane miracle: the publication of the titular Minx. Now, after flirting with moderate success and some major scandals, Minx is poised to transform itself into true cultural powerhouse.

So what happens next with Joyce and Doug? How will a wealthy new widow rock the boat at Minx? And can you get a sneak peek at Minx Season 2 right now? Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch Minx Season 2 on Starz…

Minx Season 2 is streaming exclusively on Starz. Although the series was originally a Max original (back in the HBO Max days of the app), Minx was pulled off the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service last December. Starz saved the series, which was almost done production on its second season at the time of cancelation.

Curious about Minx, but missed it on Max? All of Minx Season 1 is currently streaming on Starz.

Minx Season 2 premieres on both the Starz app and Starz network on Friday, July 21.

Fans of the traditional premium cable network can tune in Friday night at 9 PM to watch Joyce, Doug, and company take Minx magazine to the next level. And if that’s not enough mancandy for you, the Minx Season 2 premiere is sandwiched in between the 8 PM broadcast premiere of Outlander Season 7 Episode 6 and its 9:33 PM encore.

Minx Season 2 Episode 1 “The perils of being a wealthy widow” premieres on the Starz channel at 9 PM ET/PT on Friday, July 21. If you’re not in those time zones, check your local listings to make sure you don’t miss when it airs.

If you’re not a die-hard fan of coaxial, you can stream the Minx Season 2 premiere on the Starz app as early as 12 AM ET on Friday, July 21.

There are eight episodes in total in Minx Season 2. Worried about missing a single new episode of Minx this Summer? Here’s a guide to how Minx Season 2’s episodes will roll out on Starz:

It’s too early to say! It definitely seems that Starz is excited for the saucy series to join its lineup. They’ve also given it an obvious programming boost pairing it with both Outlander and Men in Kilts. Time will tell if the show will connect with the Starz audience, one that tends to like feisty female heroines and handsome men with their clothes off.

Minx was abruptly cancelled by Max in December 2022, just days before shooting on the second season wrapped. It was part of a bloodbath of series cancelations and announcements that Warner Bros. Discovery would be siphoning off HBO and Max originals to rival streamers and their own FAST streaming libraries. Meaning, Minx was part of the David Zaslav content massacre, killed to stop the payment of residuals and to hopefully create a tax write off for the company.

Since Starz jumped at the opportunity to purchase the rights to the series, it’s very possible that the show will find newfound popularity at a new streaming platform.
