There are periods of swirling action and spans of lesser action, but rarely does inaction take over the NFL landscape. The Super Bowl, featuring the Chiefs’ championship repeat, is in the rearview mirror and we are officially in the early stages of the NFL offseason. Consider this the calm before the annual storms when free agency and the NFL Draft make landfall.

There are always topics to discuss because if a team stays the same, it is regressing. For the Giants, coming off a disappointing season (6-11) and not considered a real contender, there is more urgency to address these topics.

Getting Daniel Jones back to full health is the goal for a franchise that hoped this position was figured out one year ago when Jones signed a four-year contract worth $160 million. A bad 2023 season plus two alarming injuries — another issue with his neck and then a torn ACL — have the Giants viewing Jones as a medical risk. There is every reason to believe his knee will be healed and he will be ready for the start of the season.
