Seton Hall likely punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament after beating Villanova, 66-56, on Wednesday night at Prudential Center.
But what does that mean for St. John’s?
With the win, Seton Hall (19-11, 12-7 Big East) will be no worse than the No. 4 seed in next week’s Big East Tournament.
St. John’s (18-12, 10-9) is now tied with Villanova (17-13, 10-9) and Providence (19-11, 10-9) for fifth in the conference.
The Red Storm, who have won four in a row and have surged back into the NCAA Tournament picture, now own a three-way tiebreaker over Villanova and Providence for the No. 5 seed in the Big East Tournament.
If St. John’s beats Georgetown on Saturday, the only scenario in which it doesn’t finish fifth is if Villanova loses to Creighton and Providence upsets UConn.

As for Seton Hall, Kadary Richmond had 20 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Pirates snapped an eight-game skid against Villanova.
