Giants co-owner John Mara said it is “ridiculous’’ how poor the offensive line has been for darn-near a decade.
So, at No. 6 overall the Giants could select one of the best offensive tackles in this draft to fortify their line.
That is unlikely to happen, though, as they already have a franchise left tackle (Andrew Thomas) and are hoping that Evan Neal (No. 7 overall in 2022) shows dramatic improvement or else veteran free-agent addition Jermaine Eluemunor can move in at right tackle — or to a guard spot if Neal works out.
Jon Runyan Jr. was signed to start at one guard spot and John Michael Schmitz is back for year No. 2 at center.
A Day 2 move for a player such as Oregon’s Jackson Powers-Johnson or West Virginia’s Zach Frazier as guard prospects is not out of the question.
