For some, this year’s Orange Bowl might feel like the real College Football Playoff National Championship.
On Saturday, Dec. 30, the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs will face off against the undefeated, fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles at Miami Gardens, FL’s Hard Rock Stadium.
When Bowl games were announced in early December, Florida State fans were shocked to find out their 13-0 squad had been left out of the College Football Playoff.
“To eliminate them from a chance to compete for a national championship is an unwarranted injustice that shows complete disregard and disrespect for their performance and accomplishments,” Florida State athletic director Michael Alford said.
“It is unforgivable.”
The reason for the snub though was fairly straightforward; coach Mike Norvell’s star quarterback Jordan Travis has been sidelined since a knee injury on Nov. 18. Backup Tate Rodemaker finished the season with a pair of wins in his place.
Anyhow, both teams are out for blood in this high-profile, season-ending matchup.
