They’re back for blood.
After last season’s heartbreaking Wild Card weekend loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens decided to go big this offseason, re-signing star quarterback Lamar Jackson and inking legendary receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The hefty investment paid off.
Sporting a spiffy 13-4 record — that includes wins over playoff teams like the Dolphins, 49ers, Rams, Lions and yes, the Texans — the Ravens look primed and ready to go for their AFC divisional round game against the Houston Texans at Baltimore, MD’s M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Fans shouldn’t count out CJ Stroud’s Texans just yet, though.
Houston rebounded from an AFC worst 3-13-1 record in 2022 to go 10-7 this year. Then, they stomped all over the Cleveland Browns with a 45-14 Wild Card weekend victory.
And they’re not ready to go home just yet.
“All that’s on our mind is finding a way to win no matter the elements,” coach DeMeco Ryans said, according to Click 2 Houston.
Therefore, Baltimore will need all the help they can muster this weekend to ensure victory.

Dating back to 2002, the Ravens have an 11-2 all-time record against the Texans.
Their last meeting was the first game of the 2023 regular season; Baltimore trounced Houston 25-9 to kick off their march toward the NFL’s best record.
As hinted at, the Ravens roster is rather impressive; the team is sending seven players to this year’s Pro Bowl. They are quarterback Lamar Jackson, center Tyler Linderbaum, interior lineman Justin Madubuike, strong safety Kyle Hamilton, placekicker Justin Tucker and inside/middle linebackers Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen.
As for the 10-7 Texans, they were one of the NFL’s best stories of the season. Their rebound, coupled with the success of rookie phenoms CJ Stroud and Will Anderson Jr., shocked the world.
“it doesn’t matter who makes the play, it doesn’t matter when they make the play,” coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Everybody just cares about winning.”
