No, you don’t have déjà vu.
Just like the Celtics winning game 5 after going down 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the New York Knicks have done the same against the Indiana Pacers.
On Thursday, May 29, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns kept the team’s season alive with a commanding 111-94 victory over Indiana at MSG. Brunson dropped 32 points on 12-18 shooting from the field while Towns added 24 while nursing a left knee injury.
“It’s a testament to our team answering the call,” Towns said.
“Our backs were against the wall,” Brunson added. “So, I mean, we’ve got to give it everything we got.”
The series resumes with game 6 at Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, May 31.
As you may recall, the Celtics couldn’t get anything going in game 6 and the Knicks ran away with a 119-81 blowout win on their home court. Tom Thibodeau’s team hopes to avoid a similar fate and (fingers crossed) become the 14th team in NBA history to overcome the 3-1 deficit and advance to the Finals.
If you want to be there to see if the Knickerbockers have what it takes to bring the series back to New York — or watch Indiana clinch on their home court — last-minute tickets are available for the cutthroat contest.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $241 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Courtside seats are a bit pricier. They start at $6,176.43 including fees.

In 2024, Haliburton and the Pacers came back from a 2-0 deficit to take down a hobbled Knicks club in seven games in the the Eastern Conference semifinals.
One series later, they were swept by the mighty Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.
Soon after, the Knicks bolstered their roster and added Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges. The pieces were finally in place for a deep playoff run.
Over the course of the 2024-25 regular season, the new and improved Knicks met their rivals from Indy three times and took two of those contests.
The Knicks finished the year with a 51-31 record, snagging the No. 3 seed, while the Pacers capped the season with 50 wins and the No. 4 draw.
Following impressive series wins — the Knicks beat the fiery Pistons and dramatically took down the defending champion Celtics in the second round — fans finally got the heated rematch they had been dreaming of all year long.
Unfortunately, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag for New York thus far.
Games 1 and 2 at the Garden were both heartbreaking in different ways. In the first contest, they squandered a commanding fourth-quarter lead.
Brunson and co. couldn’t capitalize in Game 2.
On the road, the Knicks came alive in game 3 and overcame a double-digit hole to steal a win on Indianapolis’ home court.
However, game 4 was a return to disappointing form. Thibodeau’s club did everything they could on Tuesday night but could not rally in the second half. Two nights later, New York came back to life and won 111-94 on their home court to bring the series back to Indiana.
For more about the two team’s history — we’re barely scratching the surface or even covering all the fan stories here — you can find all things New York Knicks on The Post.
